Our volunteer staff serve the dual function of role models and mentors in one-on-one and group settings. Snow Days volunteer staff are full-time students or working folk. They demonstrate to program participants that it is possible to balance their schoolwork or job with extracurricular activities. They also explain mountain safety and guide our students through the process of learning to ride a snowboard.
If this sounds interesting to you, we are always looking for new volunteers. Snow Days also needs people to help plan and organize trips, raise funds, work with sponsors, and publicize our organization. If you would like to contribute and share your love of snowboarding with others, please email volunteer@snowdaysfoundation.org.
We would also like to meet you in person, so please check the News page for upcoming events. Come along, show your support, and get involved!
We're happy if you can contribute one day a month during the winter (Jan-May).
Day trips happen on Fridays and Saturdays, from January until the end of May. We typically run 10-12 trips each winter, at least one every two weeks.
There are no specific requirements for our volunteers. In general we're looking for positive people who will want to help our Snowdays kids have a great time on the hill. Of course if you have previous experience working with young people or teaching snowboarding, that's great too.
Absolutely. We need people to help out in many different ways, only some of which involve a snowboard.
Apart from running day trips, we can also use help working with sponsors, writing donation and grant applications, and lot of other stuff. Surprise us.
It does not cost anything to participate in day trips. A lift ticket and lunch are included, and volunteers ride up with the students in our vans.
